Unsure about treatment abroad? Start with a Free Doctor Consultation

Published date:

Are you considering treatment abroad but feeling uncertain about taking the next step? Perhaps you already have a consultant’s letter or an older X-ray or scan from your GP or the NHS and are reluctant to pay for new diagnostic tests before speaking to the hospital about your options?

MMG’s new “Start with a Free Doctor Consultation” feature is designed to help you explore those questions before deciding whether to proceed.

You do not need to have everything ready. This is an opportunity to explain your situation, ask questions and receive preliminary guidance, without committing to a treatment booking.

Start with the information you already have

If you are on an NHS waiting list, you may already have medical information that explains your condition and the treatment recommended. Even if those documents or test results are older, they can provide a useful starting point for a preliminary review by your chosen MMG hospital’s medical team.

That means you can seek initial advice before arranging or paying for updated diagnostic tests. The hospital can then explain what further information it would need if you decide to take your enquiry forward.

If you have no medical documents yet, you can still submit an enquiry. We will help you understand the next steps.

A simple way to ask your questions

Click “Start with a Free Doctor Consultation” at the top right of the MMG website. It’s on every page of our straightforward and user-friendly platform. Enter your name and email address, tell us which treatment you are considering and explain what you would like to know. You can also indicate which medical documents you already have.

Whether your concern is about the treatment itself, travelling abroad or how the process works, tell us what is making you hesitate. Our team will review your enquiry, help with practical questions and, where appropriate, connect you with your chosen hospital’s medical team for preliminary advice.

The consultation does not constitute clearance for surgery. Updated tests and further assessment will be needed before the hospital can confirm your suitability for treatment—but you can begin by asking questions and using the information you already have.

You do not have to make every decision today. Start with a conversation and take the next step when you feel ready.
