The technology can be used across procedures ranging from cervical and sacral fusion to complex deformity correction and trauma surgery. HM Málaga’s orthopaedic service now combines 3D intraoperative imaging, navigation and robotic technology to support greater precision during spinal procedures.
The hospital is innovating elsewhere too. Its general and digestive surgery service uses Full HD surgical imaging, ultrasonic cutting technology and computerised bipolar energy systems. It also offers EPSiT minimally invasive endoscopic treatment for pilonidal disease, a technique that can allow discharge in under six hours in suitable cases.
UK patients are already part of everyday healthcare in Málaga
Travelling abroad for planned surgery involves more than what happens in the operating theatre. Patients need a hospital accustomed to people arriving from different healthcare systems, communicating across borders and navigating treatment away from home.
